My story around health and wellbeing began as a teenager. I developed a bad cough when I was 14 and had increasing difficulty in eating, we went to a number of doctors who due to my age and my losing weight insisted I was anorexic and wouldn’t listen to what I or my parents were saying. Eventually at the age of 17 I saw a doctor who did listen and weighing 5 stones (c32 kgs) and dangerously ill I was admitted to hospital to discover that my digestive system wasn’t working properly. I had a major operation and although that allowed me to eat, I still live with the condition and it does present problems sometimes, but I have become well equipped to deal with it over the years.

This is where my passion for women in particular not having their voices heard began along with needing to look after your health and wellbeing.

I have had a few other incidence of not being listened to and having to fight to get my voice heard and know that particularly as women this can damage confidence and self esteem and saps your energy, it certainly did for me.

Through various challenges life threw my way in the last few years and watching loved ones health decline and subsequently losing them I decided to make a significant change so I could live my best, healthiest, happiest life. I spent a year studying to become a Level 5 Certified Health and Wellbeing Coach with the Health Coaches Academy.

Along the way I have found my confidence again and my voice is back and I have now started Carolyn Dauncey Wellbeing to help others do the same along with being able to live a healthy, long, confident and joyful life.
